A <\/span>post-doctoral position<\/span> is available in the Slotman lab to conduct NIH-funded research into the genomics of host seeking behavior of <\/span>Anopheles gambiae. <\/span>For more details see the full<\/span> position announcement.pdf<\/span><\/a> (10\/30\/2014)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Three positions<\/span> are available in the lab of Dr. Giri Athrey at Texas A&M University. The main foci of the Athrey lab is to use field sampling and experimental approaches coupled with genomic and bioinformatics tools to answer questions in infectious disease evolution, immunogenetics, and the genetic basis of complex traits.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Postdoc position:<\/span><\/strong>
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

The candidate should have an interest in infectious diseases, with a strong background in genetics. Individuals with prior experience in analysis of large genomic datasets will be preferred. The postdoc will work closely with the PI on projects looking at the transcriptomic and epigenetic aspects of innate immunity in vertebrate hosts, under challenge from infection. The postdoc will also play an important role in a genome assembly and annotation project. Other duties may involve undergraduate and graduate student mentoring. Initial appointment will be for one year, and renewable based on performance. Salary will be commensurate with experience.<\/p>\n

A postdoctoral position<\/span> is available in Gabriel Hamer\u2019s Lab at the Department of Entomology, Texas A&M University.\u00a0 The successful candidate will contribute to research studying multiple aspects of vector-borne and zoonotic disease ecology (http:\/\/hamerlab.tamu.edu\/<\/a>).\u00a0 Projects will integrate field, molecular, and quantitative techniques to understand and manage vector-borne diseases.<\/p>\n

Candidates should have a PhD in biology, ecology, entomology, or related fields and strong skills in molecular biology and quantitative techniques. Candidates should demonstrate a good track record of publications, have strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills, and will be expected to contribute to proposal writing. Candidates will need to work independently and as effective members of multidisciplinary collaborative teams.\u00a0 The candidate will have the opportunity to integrate with the TAMU Vector Biology Research Group (http:\/\/vectorbiology.tamu.edu\/Home.html<\/a>) and the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Program (http:\/\/eeb.tamu.edu\/<\/a>).<\/p>\n

To ensure consideration, please submit the application by February 27, 2015, but the position will remain open until filled.\u00a0 The expected start date is between March and July, 2015. The position is available for 2 years with the possibility of renewal depending on performance and available funds. Salary is commensurate with experience.
