\"tetteh\"EMMANUEL TETTEH<\/strong> received his BS with Honors degree in Clinical Chemistry from the University of Ghana in 2010. After working for three years as a Biomedical Scientist, he received an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship to study for a MS degree in Forensic Science through three universities. He has spent time studying in Spain, Portugal and the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

The research component of his MS degree was conducted in the FLIES Facility. His work focused on the volatile emissions of blow flies. He was particularly interested in the invasive blow fly, Chrysomya rufifacies<\/em> (Macquart) (Diptera: Calliphoridae) and the native blow fly known as the secondary screw worm, Cochliomya macellaria<\/em> (Fabricius) (Diptera: Calliphoridae). He was able to determine volatile organic compounds can be analyzed via GC-MS for species identification and aging of the insects to determine their time of colonization.\u00a0Emmanuel returned to the United Kingdom and was able to successfully defend his research for MS degree.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
