He participated in summer research with the REU-Excite program at Texas A&amp;M University. His research examined the preference of male and female <em>Cochliomyia macellaria<\/em> and <em>Chrysomya rufifacies<\/em> blow flies to livers at different stages of decomposition. Frank presented his research at the American Academy of Forensic Sciences conference in Denver, Colorado in February 2009.
