\"jones-photo\"<\/a>BRITTNY JONES<\/strong> was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. She attended Austin Peay State University (APSU) in Clarksville, Tennessee. There, she graduated with her BS and MS in biology. Her passion for learning about entomology derived from working in the aquatic macroinvertebrate laboratory at APSU under the guidance of Dr. Steven Hamilton. Due to her experience there, she has become fascinated with the world of insects. Her current goal is to become a forensic entomologist and educate others on the importance of insects in the field of forensic science. Brittny\u2019s PhD research will examine the role of larval nutrition ecology of on sexual conflict between males competing for females. She will be using the black soldier fly, Hermetia illucens<\/em>, (Diptera: Stratiomyidae) as her model organism.<\/p>\n
