holcomb-picture-smallerCHELSEA HOLCOMB is a PhD student in the FLIES Facility and is advised by Dr. Tomberlin. She received her BS in Entomology from Texas A&M University in 2011 and her MS in Agriculture from Tarleton State University. Her research examined the effects of condensed tannins in manure on green June beetle, Cotinis nitida, development.  Her doctoral research will focus on ephemeral resource ecology and the interaction between black soldier fly, Hermetia illucens, and housefly, Musca domestica, larvae in manure with a specific focus on nutrient recycling and bioconversion rates.
