They, along with undergraduate students from across the nation,\u00a0had the opportunity to network with nearly 2,000 financial planning professionals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;font-size: small;color: #5f574f\">&#8220;Our trip to the TD Ameritrade Institutional National LINC conference was a wonderful experience,&#8221; Braun said. &#8220;At the conference we were able to learn more about burning topics in financial planning including technology and succession planning.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;font-size: small;color: #5f574f;text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/financialplanning.tamu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/47\/2015\/02\/Texas-AandM-Lankford-and-Braun.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1422\" src=\"\/\/college.agrilife.org\/financialplanning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/47\/2015\/02\/Texas-AandM-Lankford-and-Braun-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Texas AandM - Lankford and Braun\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;font-size: small;color: #5f574f\">The conference provided a platform for students to work together and share their knowledge of the profession. By attending\u00a0professional development breakout sessions, students were encouraged to\u00a0collaborate with one another and express themselves.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;font-size: small;color: #5f574f\">&#8220;Through the special Women&#8217;s breakout I was inspired to create a brand that represented me through sharing my own personal story,&#8221;\u00a0Braun said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;font-size: small;color: #5f574f;text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/financialplanning.tamu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/47\/2015\/02\/2015-National-LINC-Students-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1425\" src=\"\/\/college.agrilife.org\/financialplanning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/47\/2015\/02\/2015-National-LINC-Students-2-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"2015 National LINC Students 2\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;font-size: small;color: #5f574f\">Along with collaboration and networking, LINC equips students with real-life application of the material taught in the classroom. Not only does this provide hands-on experience, it also leaves an everlasting impression upon the\u00a0students.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;font-size: small;color: #5f574f\">&#8220;I had the opportunity to dig deeper into the profession, and was able to make real life connections with my coursework and the real world,&#8221; Lankford said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;font-size: small;color: #5f574f\">Dr. Nathan Harness, TD Ameritrade director of financial planning, was also in attendance and described the experience as unforgettable.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;font-size: small;color: #5f574f\">&#8220;For me, the greatest impact was for the president of TD Ameritrade, Tom Nally, to tell 2,000 planners that Texas A&amp;M has one of the best young financial planning programs in the country,&#8221; Harness said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;font-size: small;color: #5f574f;text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/financialplanning.tamu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/47\/2015\/02\/Nally-and-Aggies.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1424\" src=\"\/\/college.agrilife.org\/financialplanning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/47\/2015\/02\/Nally-and-Aggies-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Nally and Aggies\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;font-size: small;color: #5f574f\">With support from TD Ameritrade Institutional, the future of the Texas A&amp;M Financial Planning Program looks\u00a0bright, Harness said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;font-size: small;color: #5f574f\">&#8220;TD Ameritrade is an amazing company that has made a huge commitment to Texas A&amp;M,&#8221; Lankford said. &#8220;With their support, and the support of several Aggie alumni and professors, Texas A&amp;M has been able to create a top notch financial planning program. &#8220;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;color: #5f574f;font-family: arial;font-size: small\">For more information, please visit http:\/\/www.tdainstitutional.com\/news.page.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Agricultural economics seniors, Austin Lankford and Mariel Braun recently attended the\u00a0TD Ameritrade Institutional National LINC Conference in San Diego, California.
