Students will produce a comprehensive written financial plan for a client. As a result of your participation in this course, you will be able to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #2c2929;\">Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the content found within the financial planning curriculum to formulate a written financial plan for a client.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #2c2929;\">Collect all necessary qualitative and quantitative information required to develop a financial plan.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #2c2929;\">Analyze personal financial situations, evaluating clients\u2019 objectives, needs, and values to develop an appropriate strategy within the financial plan.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #2c2929;\">Evaluate the impact of economic, political, and regulatory issues with regard to the financial plan.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #2c2929;\">Effectively communicate the financial plan, both orally and in writing.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #2c2929;\">Demonstrate logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of various approaches to a specific problem.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #2c2929;\">Apply the CFP Board Financial Planning Practice Standards to the financial planning process.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-4572_bd40a1-9e\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\"><hr class=\"kt-divider\"\/><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has--font-size has-white-color has-text-color has-background\" style=\"background-color:#500000\">Please read the following information before enrolling in this course:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-4572_c97a6d-84\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\"><hr class=\"kt-divider\"\/><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color\" style=\"color:#303030\">Prerequisites<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #2c2929;\">All students are expected to have a firm grasp of education planning, tax planning, retirement planning, investment planning, risk management, and estate planning<strong> before enrolling in this course.<\/strong> Specific learning objectives for these topics can be viewed in the appendix of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfp.net\/-\/media\/files\/cfp-board\/cfp-certification\/exam\/exam-candidate-prep-toolkit.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Exam Candidate Prep Toolkit<\/a> (PDF opens in a new tab).<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color\" style=\"color:#303030\">Expected Time Commitment<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #2c2929;\">The Capstone course is the most time intensive course in our program. Only you know how much time you have each week to dedicate to the course requirements.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #2c2929;\">For Fall and Spring semesters (15-weeks in length), students can expect to spend 8-10 hours per week.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #2c2929;\">For Summer semesters (10-weeks) students can expect to spend 10-12 hours per week.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color\" style=\"color:#303030\">Textbook Information &amp; Course Access<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #2c2929;\">The course registration system will automatically place you into the course, but you may not see content until <strong>August 19<\/strong>. The username and password that you select during the course registration process will be the same credentials you use to access the course.
