\n<\/span>The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on the Financial Planning Profession<\/span>
\nCatherine is the CEO of Pefin and leads business and\u00a0growth strategy for the organization. Before Pefin, she\u00a0had a distinguished, multi-decade career on Wall\u00a0Street, as the Managing Director and Head of\u00a0Commodity Derivatives, Americas at BNP Paribas and\u00a0as Chief Marketing Officer of J.P. Morgan.<\/p>\n

Catherine has been a leader in the FinTech space,\u00a0serving on the boards of many organizations, including\u00a0Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association\u00a0(SIFMA), and Digital Asset Holdings, a market leading\u00a0blockchain company.\u00a0She also advised Pefin for two years in matters of Marketing,\u00a0Regulation, Business Development and International Growth.<\/p>\n

Catherine has won numerous accolades, including \u2018Most Influential Woman in European\u00a0Investment Banking\u2019 in 2012 and being one of the \u2018100 Most Influential Women in European\u00a0Financial Markets in 2010 and 2011.<\/p>\n

A long-time champion of diversity, she has also served\u00a0on the J.P. Morgan Investment Banking Inclusive Leadership Council as well as on the J.P.\u00a0Morgan Chase Diversity Council. Service to the community has always been a priority for\u00a0Catherine, and she has worked with a number of significant non-profit organizations, such\u00a0as being on the board of Part of the Solution (POTS) in the Bronx, New York, and being on\u00a0the Wall Street Advisory council for the Texas A&M business school. Her contributions led\u00a0her to being inducted into the Academy of Women Leaders by the YWCA.<\/p>\n

Catherine has bachelor\u2019s degree in Economics and Finance from Texas A&M University, and\u00a0a master\u2019s degree in Economics from Brown University.<\/p>\n

\n<\/span><\/strong>Financial Planning: It’s Not Just for Boomers Anymore<\/span>
\nAlan Moore, MS, CFP\u00ae is the co-founder of the XY Planning Network, a\u00a0support network for advisors looking to serve next generation clients. He is\u00a0also the CEO of AdvicePay, the first and only compliant payment processor\u00a0for financial advisors.<\/p>\n

He is passionate about helping financial planners start\u00a0and grow their own fee-only firms to serve Gen X &amp; Gen Y clients largely\u00a0ignored by traditional firms. Alan has been recognized by Investment News as\u00a0a top \u201c40 Under 40\u2033 in financial planning, by Wealth Management as one of a\u00a0\u201cThe 10 to Watch in 2015\u2033, and was the first recipient of the NAPFA Young\u00a0Professional award in 2015.<\/p>\n

Alan frequently speaks on topics related to\u00a0technology, marketing, and business coaching, and has been quoted in\u00a0publications including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes and The New York\u00a0Times.<\/p>\n

He is also the host of XYPN Radio, one of the largest podcasts for
\nindependent financial advisors. He currently lives in Bozeman, MT so that he\u00a0can hit the slopes on powder days.<\/p>\n

\n<\/span><\/strong>The Impact of Rising Longevity on our Society and Economy<\/span>
\nMichael Guillemette, Ph.D., CFP\u00ae is an assistant professor in the department of personal financial planning at Texas Tech University. He earned a B.B.A. in risk management & insurance and a B.S. in education from the University of Georgia. <\/span>Michael earned graduate degrees in personal financial planning from Texas Tech University. <\/span><\/p>\n

His publications, which focus on household risk and insurance, have been featured in the\u00a0Wall Street Journal<\/span>,<\/span><\/i>\u00a0CNBC<\/span>, <\/span><\/i>and<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/i>Bloomberg<\/span>.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Michael was a co-recipient of research awards from the American Council of Consumer Interests and the CFP\u00ae Board.\u00a0He currently serves as a CFP\u00ae Board Ambassador.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Does Gender Influence the Selection of a Financial Advisor<\/span><\/p>\n

Matt Sommer is Vice President, Retirement Strategy Group at Janus Henderson Investors. In this role, he\u00a0leads the Defined Contribution and Wealth Advisor Services Team. His expertise covers a number of areas\u00a0including regulatory and legislative trends, practitioner best practices, and financial and retirement\u00a0planning strategies for high-net-worth clients.<\/p>\n

Prior to joining Janus in 2010, Mr. Sommer spent 17 years\u00a0at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management and its predecessors, including senior management roles as\u00a0director of financial planning at Citi Global Wealth Management.<\/p>\n

Mr. Sommer received his bachelor\u2019s degree in finance from the University of Rhode Island and an MBA,\u00a0with a concentration in finance, from the Lubin School of Business at Pace University. He is a Certified\u00a0Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA\u00ae) and currently serves on the CPWA examination task force and is an\u00a0adjunct professor at the College for Financial Planning of the CFP\u00ae and CRPS\u00ae programs. He is also a\u00a0Ph.D. candidate at Kansas State. Mr. Sommer holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP\u00ae) and Chartered\u00a0Financial Analyst designations. He has 25 years of financial industry experience.<\/p>\n
