The Financial Planning Minor is available to all undergraduate students currently enrolled at Texas A&M University (main campus) in a degree seeking program. This program prepares students for leadership roles in the financial planning profession. <\/span><\/p>\n

Program Admission<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Students wishing to take courses for academic credit should fill out a Program Application<\/strong><\/a> first. Courses are open to junior and senior undergraduate students enrolled at Texas A&M University. Graduate students wishing to enroll in the program should visit with their advisor prior to enrolling. Registration is available through HOWDY<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Admission into the Financial Planning Program does not guarantee enrollment into an academic program at Texas A&M University.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Qualifications for the Minor<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

The Financial Planning minor is available to all junior and senior undergraduate students enrolled at Texas A&M University. The six-course curriculum (18 credit hours) also satisfies the educational requirements to be eligible to sit for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM<\/sup> \u00a0exam.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prerequisites for the minor are:<\/span><\/h4>\n
    \n
  1. GPR of 2.5 or higher;<\/li>\n
  2. Junior or senior classification;<\/li>\n
  3. Ability to complete 18 hours of minor coursework before graduation;<\/li>\n
  4. And an introductory finance course (AGEC 330, or FINC 409, or FINC 341).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Courses must be taken for academic credit with a grade of \u2018C\u2019 or better for each course. Students must be in good academic standing. Successful completion of the minor will be certified by a degree audit in Compass. The minor will appear on official transcripts post-graduation.\u00a0Students wishing to add the Financial Planning minor to their degree plan must fill out a Program Application<\/strong><\/a> first.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
